Clearwater Character
As part of the Pop-Up North Marina project from last
year, she painted the turtle crosswalks along Fort Harrison
Avenue in the North Marina area. She has worked with the
city’s Parks & Recreation Department to create banners
that lined the Memorial Causeway Bridge to Clearwater
Beach, and featured Winter the Dolphin themes, Clearwater
Jazz Holiday and Phillies Spring Training. And she did the
graphic design of the large turtle showers that are part of the
Beach Walk design in the Pier 60 parking lot area.
She also painted many dolphin sculptures that are part of the
public art pod, Clearwater Dolphins Trail, which is made
up of more than 120 dolphins. Warmath also repairs turtles,
dolphins and other fiberglass sculptures. "I'm like an animal
doctor for sculptures,” she says, “which is great because I love
nature. Wildlife and endangered animals are what I really
love."
She has shown her costume designs and exotic head pieces at
the Wearable Art Show at the Dunedin Fine Arts Center for
the past four years. She is in an elite group of artists known
as the Garden Fairies. Together, they bring life to any party.
Currently, Warmath is on the hunt for a good wall off
Cleveland Street in Downtown Clearwater. The Downtown
Development Board has
granted her $1,500 to
paint a unique mural.
“I just need to find that
great place for it,” she
says of the mural. She
hopes to bring it to life
in January.
“I love it here,” she
says of Clearwater.
"I consider this my
hometown now. I've
been here so long, it’s
an honor to be able
to paint our beautiful
water, plants and wildlife
in the town where I
live and know. Nature
and art are a beautiful
companionship; it brings
people together.”
