Second Century Studios: Where Art Meets Innovation
02 MyClearwater
Initially, it was going
to be simply an art
space in Downtown
Clearwater. But
Second Century
Studios has evolved
into something
greater.
Second Century
Studios, located at
the corner of Cleveland Street and Osceola Avenue, offers
a community space where the public can learn about
immediate city goals for Downtown Clearwater that will
have a lasting effect on the city for decades to come. While
there, guests can also explore local art from more than a

Jennie Pearl.
“Second Century Studios has turned into a hub for
community engagement,” said Laura Canary, community
redevelopment coordinator for the city of Clearwater’s
Community Redevelopment Agency.
Two interior walls are fully decorated with black and white
early 20th century images of Downtown Clearwater. One

Juxtaposed to the black-and-white, early 20th century
images are colorful renderings that highlight major urban

potential.
The initiatives include:
• Imagine Clearwater is a master plan designed to
revitalize the Downtown Clearwater waterfront. The
plan proposes a design for an expanded and improved
waterfront park and recommends a set of projects that
will serve to activate Downtown Clearwater. On Nov. 7,
2017, Clearwater voters approved a charter referendum
that will implement core elements of the plan. While
there are conceptual designs for Coachman Park, final
designs will be completed in 2018, and new development
of the park will begin in 2019.
• North Marina Master Plan is a design plan to enhance
the Seminole Boat Ramp and attract commercial, retail,
restaurants and more residential to a 64-acre area that
covers Clearwater Bay to the west, Pinellas Trail to the
east, Cedar Street to the north and Eldridge Street to the
