whole family fun
With a variety of activities to choose
from, there’s bound to be something to
entertain the whole family, rain or shine!
LEARN A THING OR TWO
There’s no way to navigate Savannah and Tybee
Island without visiting a few museums along the way.
Telfair Museums is comprised of the historic Telfair
Academy, Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters,
and the Jepson Center. The last of which is home to
the ArtZeum, which is featured in the image to the
right. It’s an interactive children’s museum designed
for kids to learn more about art and express their
creative side. Another great learning experience, the
Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum, preserves the stories
of the men and women of the Eighth Air Force from
World War II.
FUN FOR FREE!
There are a number of farmer’s markets to explore,
notably the Tybee Island Farmers Market and the
Forsyth Farmers Market. While you may have to
buy the goodies, you can walk away guilt-free for
supporting some locals. Are you YMCA member?
You’re in luck because the Tybee Island YMCA can
provide complimentary visitors passes! Ellis Square
and City Market are some of the Savannah’s most
exciting spaces, with water fountains for kids to run
through, shaded tables, and a life-sized chess set
for everyone to enjoy. If you’re looking for a night in,
check out our custom, complimentary playing cards
for an exciting evening of fun and games.
WALK ON THE WILD SIDE
If getting out in nature is more your thing, visit Oatland
Island Wildlife Center. It’s situated on over 100 acres
of maritime forest between Savannah and Tybee
Island and home to over 95 animals from 39 different
species. A little further away is the UGA Marine Center
and Aquarium, which is well worth the trip. About 20
minutes from downtown Savannah, it is the home of
exhibits that showcase the marine life off the coast.
