accomplishments, but she said she has so much more that she wants to
do. Taryn is a dreamer, but most importantly, she is a doer.
“My goals are so big. I want to grow my community much bigger.
I want to scale it so then when in different countries you can say Fit and
Chic and everyone will know the name. I want to help thousands more
women. I want to have my own products. I want my own protein powders
and Fit and Chic products that are available in stores. Merchandise!
I’ve had merchandise over the last few years and it has sold very
quickly and that is very exciting, but I want to be able to have it available
so that even if you aren’t part of my community or my programs,
you could still buy the merchandise because they’re just that cute.”
“One of my big goals is to be on Good Morning America. I don’t
know what it is about that specific network, but it’s just in my heart and
I get butterflies every time I see them live, like when I go to New York
or when they come on TV, it’s just a vision of mine to share my passion
and my message on Good Morning America. I want to have my own
talk show! I want to have everything that I am so passionate about and
bring it to a talk show where every single day people could tune in and
have a fashion segment, a nutrition segment and recipes and it would
be the whole Fit and Chic Talk Show. I dream of having a magazine
and a whole empire!”
At this point Taryn tells me that she is careful with whom she shares
that with because some people would laugh and together we dismantle
that statement almost as quickly as she says it. We both understand
the importance of putting our intentions out into the world. Taryn, insisting
that I put this message in this feature went on. “I cannot emphasize
enough how important it is to speak your dreams and write them down.
Like, pen to paper is so powerful. It’s actually almost eerie how powerful
it is. Put the intention behind it when you write down your goals, and
not just once. You know, once is better than none, but often. Obviously,
once a day is the best, but if you can do it a few times a week…wow.
I’ve done that and if I go back in my notebook from a year and half
ago? It’s eerie!”
Furthering her point, “I actually made a very jenky, like, I took a
lined piece of paper and I drew a WBFF Pro certificate. I signed it, ‘This
certifies that Taryn Shea…’ drew it up, and I posted it on my bathroom
mirror. Then when I got the real one and I put it next to it, and I showed
my community, I said, ‘This is the power of pen to paper!’”
She added that her own bathroom looks “crazy,” as it is filled with
tons of clippings, mantras, goals, and affirmations. Everything from
NYC, and being on the GMAs to money affirmations are all there and
she said, “You know what? Every few months, I will look up when I’m
brushing my teeth and I go, Oh, my gosh, I’ve got to take that down
and I’ve got to put a bigger goal up because I achieved that.”

Taryn is such an inspiration to many. She spoke at our What Women
Want an Expo Just for Her event in October. I am a moderately
active mid-forty year old who had zero interest in joining a community,
or even putting an effort into an exercise program. “I feel fine,” is pretty
much my mantra and Taryn wasn’t having it. “What if I told you that
there is another level? What if I told you that there are more goals and
dreams for you to achieve that you don’t even know yet? What if I told
you that you could actually feel that much better? We don’t know what
we don’t know.”
As of this writing, I am finishing up the fourth week in her challenge,
The Final Push with Taryn Shea. I was a hesitant participant, but right
away I could see that while it was a challenge, it was still do-able.
There were several dozen other ladies in the challenge with me and
they posted often and encouraged each other without judgement. I
didn’t weigh myself at the start of the challenge, but one of the rules was
that we post a “before pic,” which I did. My goals were simple. I wanted
to feel stronger and jumpstart a path to regular exercise. My goals
were definitely met and I am already set up to continue the journey as
a member of the Fit and Chic community. I feel stronger and more conscience
of what I eat. She guides the participants through activities that
go beyond fitness and nutrition, for instance, we did a full cleaning of
our pantries AND our friends list. I am fairly anti-social, and organized
anything makes me leary, but the safe feeling of the community helped
me to overcome those issues. I look forward to watching the community
grow while Taryn continues to follow her dreams.
