The time is coming when Catholics
may not have holy and true priests
to offer the Mass and administer the
Sacraments. We are frightened by what
we see and all that we are hearing.
But, let us be consoled because the Will
of God is being accomplished. Our days
are numbered, His Providence watches
over us. The stormy turbulence of
revolution which strikes to the right
and to the left, and the sounds which
alarm us, are the threats of Herod! Let
us not be deterred from good works,
nor lose our trust in Jesus Christ. He is
our Model and the threats of Herod do
not change the course of His Design.
Jesus Christ has suffered for us and
left us an example to follow. He who
had committed no sin and whose
mouth spoke no wrong, was heaped
with curses and gave none in return:
when ill-treated, He made no threats
but gave Himself over to those who
would judge Him unjustly. Such must
be our dispositions:
The Shield of Faith must ARM us,
Hope must SUSTAIN us and
Charity must GUIDE us
in EVERYTHING!
Let us love God and fear Him alone!
We must be faithful to God and His
holy Law always and forever! This is
our goal. We must seek nothing but
the TRUTH! When we have the Spirit
of Jesus Christ, we cannot be separated
from Him.
W
hen we are persecuted for the love
of Him, deprived of all help, heaped with
captive’s chains and led to the scaffold,
we then have all the Sacraments in
the Cross! This Instrument of our
Redemption embraces all that is
necessary for our Salvation.
The tradition and history of the
Church confirm this dogmatic Truth.
It is simple for us to conclude that no
Sacrament is necessary when it is
impossible to receive it and this
conclusion is the belief of the Church.
He, who is unable to go to Confession
to a priest but having all the necessary
dispositions for the Sacrament, the
desire and the most firm and constant
intention of sorrow and contrition,
hears Jesus Christ Who says to him what
He once said to the sinning woman:
“Go, it is forgiven you
because you have loved much.”
