Thus, in all painful situations which
deprive us of the Sacraments, to carry
the Cross like a Christian is the source
of the remission of our sins. Jesus
Christ carried the Cross for sins of the
whole human race. To doubt this truth
is to wound the crucified Savior. It is to
confess that we do not realize deeply
enough the virtue and merits of the
Cross. There is no blessing like that of
Christ crucified when He blesses His
children from the Cross!
We must carry Jesus within our souls.
We can confess Him at any time, in
any place and in any disposition. It is
something worthy of admiration to see
that what the world is doing to drive
us away from God and His Christ, only
brings us closer to Him. When the storm
of the malice of men roars against
truth and justice, and the faithful
suffer the deprivation of the Eucharist
yet long for this union with God, all
the Communions which dishonor Him
are repaired.
Nothing happens without the Will of
God! Whether we have worship which
allows us to assist at Mass or we be
deprived of it, let us submit to God’s
holy Will in all circumstances.
God will pour out upon us the
abundance of His Graces, His blessings
and His mercies in these awful moments
of persecution. The abandonment and
forsakenness in which we find ourselves,
resemble that of Our Savior on the
Cross when H e said to His Father:
“My God, My God,
why hast Thou forsaken me!”
In ending our lives as Jesus ended His,
and in our pains and forlornness to be
with Him, let us unite our last sigh to
His, that God’s Will may be done! For
however long the domination of our
enemies may last, we must suffer with
patience and pray for those who oppose
us. Let us fear only that God might
reproach us for our lack of Faith, and
for not having been able to watch one
hour with Him.
As a Child of the Church
And a Soldier of Christ,
I wish to die under His Standard!
Be not surprised at the large numbers
that fall by the wayside unwilling to
give themselves entirely over to Him.
Truth wins no matter how small the
number of those who love God and
remain united with Him.
It is by our sufferings and confession
of the Faith that we highly animate our
brethren on the road of martyrdom.
God watches over us. Our hope is
justified. God’s Will be done!
