Meet the artist: Ana Brice Bain
You may have already seen her work without
knowing the artist. You can view her incredible
talent manifested in murals on prominent
buildings all over Florida. Patients can walk
feel peace when greeted by a misty forest scene
that she created for them. Many lucky kids
get to spend the day surrounded by woodland
creatures, fairies and giant mushrooms while attending
their daycare school. Thousands of excited
Bay Area residents have cheered on as one

by. She has painted business signs, window
art, and so many other things that
you may have encountered just by living
in our beautiful state. What you may not
have seen is the art she creates within the
home.
Ana Brice Bain considers herself an
“anything artist.” When asked which
medium is her favorite, she had a very
Of course, I love canvases,” she said,
“but I am having a lot of fun doing the
outlet covers right now.” There was a
mischievous twinkle in her green eyes and she giggled as she said
it. It is easy to see what a playful person she is. We’ll round back to
Ana describes her early childhood as a beautiful and unique experience.
She was raised by her single mother and has wonderful
memories of traveling all over the United States. She says she remembers
everything from visiting ancient ruins in Mexico to traveling
to yoga retreats in Washington state. Ana’s artistic style is heav-
“My inspiration for art all started by copying my mom’s,” she
reminisced. “I had a Holly Hobby light up tray and I would trace
my mom’s art on it and color it in like hers the best I could.”
“When I was about eight I discovered acrylic paint.” It was then
that she started to paint from her own point of view. She was a natural
and once she found her own voice she attacked art with an enthusiasm
she still has today. She has been a working artist since before
album covers for two major record labels and had helped design a
Kid Zone, complete with her own characters and themes. Her career
has been expansive, from commission work to festivals, she always
creates from deep within her soul. Ana says that creating art is her
way of working through her emotions. When she is
creating, she pours her pain, anger, happiness, frustration,
and love into her work.
She moved to Zephyrhills in her early twenties.
Her art helped her cope through a failed marriage
has been her greatest joy. She turned to art as a career
to support them, as well as a way to connect
with him. Much like her own childhood, she raised
the world has to offer. If she bought a canvas for
herself, she bought one for him. They spent many
hours painting and creating art together. Early in
his young life they were members of The
Museum of Art in Tampa and went to
as many openings and events that they
actually a paid intern for Ana through
Zephyrhills High School.
Ana began her very appropriately
named business Anything Art in 2004.
While she still does canvas art and commission
work, she also has a wide spectrum
of services that involve interiors.
Ever walk into someone’s home and they
have amazing walls that look like marble
or a ceiling that looks like a mysterious
dream up. She enjoys meeting people and consulting about what
their vision is for their home or business. Often a client won’t have
a fully formed plan, just a few ideas and Ana will spend time getting
to know them. She asks the right questions and together they
design a space that most people never
thought possible. She has created
indoor murals that make a plain,
windowless room look like a theatre,
but has also painted tiny little tiles to
match the originals that are missing
and no longer available. Her art isn’t
just for a client with a huge imagination
and budget, it is also for the regular
family that just wants to paint
a plain metal door to look like it’s aged wood from a farmhouse.
Those outlet covers I promised to tell you more about? I was so
impressed to see that she paints regular cheap plastic outlet covers
to seamlessly blend into their surroundings. Most kitchens that have
granite and marble counters have outlets that stand out and take
away from the beauty of the stone, but Ana paints the outlets perfectly
to match every grain, streak
and color. I couldn’t believe how
perfectly she was able to camou-
work, I never knew that people
did this, but now I can’t wait to
have mine done.
Anything Art also does antique
restoration, antiquing or ag-
on never saying no to a customer. She loves a challenge and to think
outside of the box to achieve success for a client. I asked her to think
about her career and tell me, at this stage in her business, what her
favorite part of her job is.
“I love making someone’s home a more relaxing and enjoyable
environment. I enjoy the process of making
their ideas reality and seeing their expressions
when they see what I have created
for them. That makes all of the hard
work worth it.”
Her desire to make her client happy
is evident in everything she does. You
