them both. I plan to audition again next year and that will be
fun.”
Victoria plans to avail herself to all the performance experience
she can in Los Angeles. “I’m going to be auditioning
she said. “Basically, I’m going to be auditioning for dance
companies. I have a long list of dance companies that I’m auditioning
for. I’m also going to be training every day. I’m also
going to be doing acting and modeling. I have to audition for
those as well. Since my work with Tampa City Ballet is on my
resume now that’s really going to help me out because I’ve
had professional experience already. I’m looking forward to
doing commercial work and may be score a role in some type
of movie and show - with Tampa City Ballet there was a lot of
acting so I really fell in love with that.”
Victoria hopes that her career will have an impact on those
who watch her perform. “I want to change lives,” she said. “I
want to inspire people that no matter where they come from
they can do whatever they want, that they don’t have to live
own dreams just by working hard and doing what you’ve got
to do to get there, that hard work does pay off.”
She plans to takes things one day at a time for the future
and to follow what the future brings. She has been currently
teaching for Sally Blackwood and doing choreography for
private students, and she might like to teach or have a dance
company one day. The day of those decisions won’t be long
because, as she said, “Thirty is old for a dancer.” Still. She
thinks she can still be going strong when 30 comes.
For other little dancers, she has this advice. “You can be
a professional dancer, you just have to work hard at it. Just
be thankful for where you are and every class you go to. Be
thankful you’re able to take that class. The key to success is
wanting to be there, wanting to learn, and wanting to take advice
from your teachers. Your future is in your hands. Be kind
to yourself, knowing it’s a long process, but you still have to
work hard every day.
