A Free, Online, Six-Session
Education Program...
designed to help loved ones support their
service member or veteran and themselves.
NAMI Homefront is a free 6-session, peer-led
education program specifically for families and
friends of military service members and veterans who
experience symptoms of mental health conditions. It
is taught by people who have lived the experience and
includes presentations, interactive experiences and
group discussions. Participants will learn
practical, up-to-date information about mental health
conditions, including PTSD, depression and substance
abuse, understand the latest treatment options, and
discover problem-solving techniques, coping
strategies and communication skills.
NAMI is here for all military families, including when
they are facing combat injuries, PTSD and transitioning
back to civilian life. To quote NAMI Homefront
participants: “You realize that he will never be the
same having been through war. I learned to treat him
more as an adult than as a hurt child.”
