Even before their birth, God loves to
draw children to Himself through Mary.
The expectant mother may visit a shrine
or an altar of Mary and dedicate her
child to the Mother of God, begging
her to accept and protect it as her own.
She may have a Mass offered for her
child in honor of Mary. At Baptism,
the child becomes a tabernacle of the
King of Heaven and earth; God Himself
dwells in its soul. The innocence of
the child is the most priceless good
and source of every virtue and joy.
Without a great love and devotion
towards our heavenly Mother, it is
impossible for anyone to preserve
bodily chastity. Innocent hearts are
corrupted by TV, immoral movies,
indecent cartoons and bad companions.
teach our children the
nions.
Let us te
and encourage them to pray it
often; consecrate them to Mary and
teach them to be lovingly devoted to
their heavenly Queen, keep pictures
and statues of Our Lady in the house.
Encourage children to adorn them
with flowers and have great reverence
for them. P
repare your children carefully for
First Holy Communion and have them
clothed in the Scapular of Mt. Carmel.
The devil has revealed many times
that he has no power over those who
propagate devotion to the Blessed
Virgin and who wear the holy Scapular,
for these souls are seldom lost. The
Miraculous Medal also draws down
the special protection of Mary and
should be placed on even the smallest
children. If you love your children,
place them in Mary’s keeping.
Under Mary’s Mantle in
the Trials of Life
In the world, there are many dangers,
much grief, anguish, terror and darkness.
Where shall we seek shelter?
Whither shall we flee for safety? What
power of hell, or what temptation,
can overcome a soul that places its
confidence in the patronage of her who
is the Mother of God? In every need
and affection, the soul will find an
unsurpassed tenderness and generosity
in Mary. She holds the key to all Divine
Mercies, and the door to God’s Heart
never fails to open when She seeks
admission. She takes lavishly from His
treasures and bestows them on her
children, for She is a gracious Queen
and loving Mother, and always gives
more than is asked of her. Mary has
gained the right to distribute the fruits
of Redemption on behalf of her Son
and in dependence on Him through
her all-embracing mediation.
Let us ask Mary to be with us in our
joys and sorrows, in our cares and
fears, and in our hopes and triumphs.
Let us go to her with perfect trust. Mary
is Our Mother. The more completely we
have recourse to this loving Mother,
the more shall we experience her
supernatural help. We may pray with
total confidence in Mary, for how could
Jesus refuse His Mother anything?
Most of us do not doubt that She can
help us, but we fail to realize that it is
her ardent desire to give us help. Mary
is perfectly the “Mother
of the entire human
race.” The flame of love
burns in Mary’s Heart
for each one of her
children.
“O Happy
Confidence,
the Mother of God
is my Mother!”
