High School student spreads safety message with
Naples Players funding and professional guidance.
After attending a conference on human
trafficking in Washington D.C. this past
year, high school student Nick Lamb got
an itch to help.
“All of these diplomats were doing things
like creating schools in Africa for trafficked
women,” Lamb said. “It really inspired
me as the youngest person there.”
Now, the 17-year-old senior at Naples
High School is ready to begin sharing his
own educational video on the dangerous
trend to his peers all over the county
thanks to The Naples Players.
When Lamb returned to Florida, he began
a student task force against human
trafficking. Then, together with his sister
Katie Lamb, he came up with the idea for
an educational video entitled ‘Control Alt
Deceit’.
The Lamb siblings wrote the script but
hit a roadblock, knowing nothing about
video production.
“We reached out to The Naples Players
and they offered to help, which was
surprising because we contacted a few
other groups who said it was too unrealistic
for them,” Lamb said.
After tweaking the script, The Naples
Players reached out to a video production
company to film and edit the project, they
cast high school actors to portray each
role and provided direction and guidance
throughout the whole process. They finished
filming and editing this summer.
“We’re really focused on showing the
signs and symptoms of someone who
is being trafficked,” Lamb said. “People
always imagine victims in chains, but it’s
