SWEET STONE CRAB
To harvest the stone crab, commercial
of it using scuba or snorkeling gear and
collecting the crabs by hand.
By removing only one claw, the stone
crabs are sustainably harvested. When the
the crabs re-grow a new claw back to 95% of
its original size.
Stone crab claws can be served warm or
cold. Enjoy the claws dipped in melted butter
tastes like a combination of lobster and crab.
Plenty of restaurants in the Clearwater area
serve stone crab claws, so be sure to get a
taste during your stay. Some restaurants will
even ship stone crab, so you can extend your
Clearwater culinary experience even when
you have to return home.
