St. Pete is a favorite destination
for competitive races. Two of the
most notable are the St. Anthony’s
Triathlon and the Sunshine Skyway
10K Bridge Run. Now in its 36th
year, St. Anthony’s Triathlon is a USA
Triathlon-sanctioned competition that
brings athletes from around the world
to compete in a bike-swim-run event.
The swim portion takes place in openwater
of Tampa Bay.

chances to cross a 6.2 mile span of
the iconic, award-winning Sunshine
Skyway Bridge. A portion of the
bridge is closed to early morning traf-

ners who participate in this popular
event.
4 SPEND THE DAY ON THE
WATER
As a coastal city, St. Petersburg offers
outstanding water sports. Rent jet skis
for an adrenaline rush or go kite surfing
near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
Paddleboard or kayak at Weedon
Island nature preserve. Take sailing
lessons at the St. Pete Sailing Center,
or enjoy a sunset charter in Tampa
Bay. St. Pete also has nearly two
dozen public boat ramps as well as
many public and private marinas.
5 TAKE A YOGA CLASS
St. Pete is a city that loves yoga.
Look for classes at one of the many
yoga studios, well as more unique
places, including Crescent Lake Park,
Sunken Gardens, Sundial Shopping
Plaza, The Dalí Museum and craft
breweries.
