DOWNTOWN DISTRICTS
BEACH DRIVE WATERFRONT
DISTRICT
Outdoor sidewalk dining, upscale
museums create a European-style
ambience along Beach Drive and
nearby streets. Shops and restaurants
sit across from the downtown
waterfront park system and local
marinas. The new 26-acre Pier District
is just steps away. Be sure to visit the
Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg,
The Dalí Museum, St. Petersburg
Museum of History and the Duke
Energy Center for the Arts Mahaffey
Theater, the city’s performing arts
center. The landmark historic Vinoy
Renaissance Resort & Golf Club is
also located here, as well as the St.
Petersburg Yacht Club and Sailing
Center. The University of South
Florida St. Petersburg and the nationally
renowned USF College of Marine
Science are just a few blocks south.
CENTRAL ARTS DISTRICT
Just a block up from Beach Drive
starts the Central Arts District, known
for its many restaurants, coffee shops,
bars and small boutiques and shops.
It’s also home to the James Museum
of Western & Wildlife Art, as well
as the Florida Holocaust Museum,
Florida CraftArt and the Art Lofts.
Nearby is Studio@620, a unique
performing arts space, and the soonto
open Museum of American Arts &
Crafts Movement. Jannus Live, an historic
outdoor courtyard music venue,
is also on this district.
THE EDGE DISTRICT
The Edge District, located between
11th St. N and Central Ave., continues
the focus on locally owned
restaurants, pubs and indie shops, art
several craft breweries here, including
Green Bench Brewing Company,
featuring custom craft beers and
Webb’s City Cellar, specializing in
mead and ciders. The Edge District is
experiencing a boom in development
and is home to a growing number
of residential complexes and hotels.
Tropicana Field, home to the Tampa
Bay Rays baseball team, borders the
district.
GRAND CENTRAL DISTRICT
Grand Central is a showcase of St.
Pete’s creative side. The district runs
along Central Avenue from 16th St N.
to 31 St. N. and is located within the
boundaries of the Kenwood Historic
District, a neighborhood that has
one of the highest concentration of
Craftsman Bungalow homes in the
