Sports Tourism
Sports tourism events in the city of Clearwater play an important role in the
economic impact throughout the city. These events range from youth sport
tournaments, to college and professional team events. The Philadelphia Union and
DC United soccer teams and Philadelphia Phillies Spring Training draw people
worldwide to the community. 2020 saw the return of the St. Pete/Clearwater Elite
Invitational, which took place at the Eddie C. Moore softball complex. This event
hosted 10 of the top 25 teams in NCAA women’s Division I softball, and the
event was televised across various networks throughout the weekend. The city of
Clearwater invites everyone to enjoy our bright and beautiful city, from the bay to
the beach. For more event information, contact Holden Hamm, Athletic Supervisor,
562-4619. For information regarding volunteering for events, please contact Alyssa
Gaudreault, volunteer manager, at 562-4832.
