Classic cars to be shown in Downtown Tampa
April 13th at Gasparilla Concours d’Elegance

This world-class a
antique car collector’s event will be held
Saturday, April 13, 20
2019 at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, on
the the banks banks of of the the Hillsb
Hillsborough River.
President Woodrow Wilson’s 1919 Pierce Arrow, is the
marquee gem for this “100 Years of Autos.” The Woodrow
Wilson Presidential Library and Museum in Staunton, VA.,
will show off the president’s 1919 Pierce-Arrow Presidential
Limousine. The limousine is the 120th of Pierce-Arrow’s “Series
50” models.
Tampa Bay Auto Museum owners Olivier and Susan Cerf
will show it as the “Rainy Rolls.” “That’s a 1933 Rolls-Royce
Sedanca Limousine that recreates a 1938 Paris exhibit by the
famed painter, Salvador Dali, who made it rain inside the car,
soaking a mannequin with snails wandering around inside,”
the museum said. That car has been on loan to the Dali Museum
in St. Petersburg.

Some of these classic cars scheduled to be shown at this
event represent the best in automobile restorations. All automobiles
are judged for style and technical merit, as well as
their history, originality and accuracy of their preservation or
restoration.
The event will kick off with an April 12th “Cars in the
Park” party and charity auction, with local car clubs showing
off their rides at Curtis Hixon park on the Hillsborough River
in downtown Tampa on Friday evening. The following day,
Talent, will sing our National Anthem.
Planning for Tampa’s new concours began two years
ago, said Administrative Director, Joanne Pistorius. Avid car
collectors, she and husband Brando had attended the Amelia
Concours for years, and have also shown some of their
beautiful restoration projects at the Lake Mirror Classic (now
Lakeland Auto Show) for over 12 years. Ford Heacock, the
founder of the Lake Mirror Classic became an advisor from
the beginning. Sponsors jumped on board including the Mid-
Florida Credit Union, AAA and more. “That’s when we knew
