Makers & Shakers
Pati started her career as an interior designer in the 80s, worked
for a local paint store providing custom work for customers and even
has been an event planner. So her eye for design shows through when
you walk into Makers & Shakers Antique Mall.
When her husband joined the Marine Corp, she became a military
wife for 20 years, moving around a lot, and constantly redecorating.
Upon returning to Tampa, she acquired her Masters in Library Science,
but decorating and design remained her passion.
When the opportunity came to acquire the location in Dade City,
Makers & Shakers Antique Mall was born. Currently 25 vendors are
displayed throughout the store. “It is not your traditional antique store,”
says Pati. From antique furniture to trendy, chic styles, houseware,
fabric, clothing, arts & crafts to jewelry, there is something for everyone,
no matter the budget, small or high end. An eclectic collection that will
appeal to just about anyone that walks in the door.
Recently, Pati has added upholstery service, and acquired a new line
of transfers for those that are crafty. Plans are in the works to add
more DIY classes and more.

the buying for the store making sure her choices appeal to customers.
And it shows the minute you step into Lori Anne’s which is located in
downtown Dade City.
“The best part”, says Barb, “is when the shipments arrive and we
get to open the boxes. It feels like Christmas!” Barb’s eye for quality,
style and beauty show through as the merchandise is displayed. Every

Kathy has been in Florida since the age of 6, growing up in the
Brandon area. She moved to Zephyrhills about 4 years ago. With 3
grown children and a background in accounting, it was a complete
change to switch to the antique business, but it helps when it comes
to running the store.
Her partner Murph is the collector, but Kathy needed a change and
found that being in the antique business was interesting.
She really loves hearing the stories about the items that are bought
or brought in to sell. Interacting with their customers is the highlight
of the job. Along with that, it’s Kathy’s hidden talent for display that
makes you feel you have stepped back in time, and gives the store a
warm welcoming feeling. Each antique that she displays is placed with
just the right creative look to enhance the item, making it easy to get
lost while you are shopping.
