Scenes of
Toombs Co.
In the South it can often be hard to tell when summer actually ends. Days
in late October can still be scorchers and their evenings filled with thirsty
mosquitos. But then comes that one day...the day when the first leaf falls
followed by a shower of red, yellow and orange friends. The day humid, muggy
mornings give way to crisp air and the sound of crows and hunters. It’s also
the day we grope in our closets for boots to replace our sandals. Fall rushes in
quickly in a glorious array of color, light and sound and soon she gives way to the
stillness of winter. But for a few days we embrace the season like we embrace the
joy of living in Toombs County!
