Melt Shoppe | Melt Shoppe Burger Inside Tampa’s The Hall on Franklin, Melt Shoppe sits alongside six other concepts. Formed around the world of comfort foods, their Melt Shoppe Burger will not disappoint. The patty is a signature blend of beef and bacon (yes, bacon!), topped with the classic ketchup, pickles, onion and cheddar cheese. To finish it off, it is topped with more bacon (yes, more bacon) and their Melt Shoppe burger sauce. Bodega | Frita Walking down Central’s Edge District you’ll likely see a line forming at any given time in front of Bodega. Don’t let the little walk up window fool you—this Cuban restaurant packs big flavor. For their burger option, try the Frita—a Cuban style beef and pork burger with spicy mayo, tomato, avocado and crisp Frita sticks on top. Also try one of their Sodas Frescas, a daily mix of freshsqueezed fruit, herbs, spices, Florida cane sugar and Pinellas seltzer. Bistro BT | Bistro Burger Tampa’s Bistro BT is a must-try for their Bistro Burger. This burger is made from grass-fed cattle raised in Hillsborough County, and is brought fresh to the restaurant directly by the rancher every week. It is prepared with their own blend of dry-rubbed spices, layered with caramelized onions, Dijon mustard, homemade aioli, lettuce, plum tomatoes and served on a freshly baked French baguette. It is also available as a cheeseburger, crowned with French Gruyere cheese. Anise Global Gastrobar | Thai Burger Anise in downtown Tampa is known for their community focus and global array of flavors. Their Thai Burger plays with your senses, adorned by a cool green papaya slaw, a bit of heat with jalapeños and then finished with a creamy ginger aioli. Or try their Chili Cheese Burger—a beef patty topped with their chili beef (slow cooked chunks of beef marinated with Indian spices) and American cheese. Datz | The Cheesy Todd The Tampa staple Datz has likely never been described as boring. They are constantly thinking outside the box (or the buns in this case) as they continue to prove a burger can be as striking and delicious as it is different. The Cheesy Todd burger is made from 100% ground chuck seared in a cast iron skillet and covered in American cheese, freshly chopped iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, red onion and pickles. What makes this one different than other burgers out there? It is nestled between two “buns” made of panko-breaded, deep fried baconjalapeño macaroni and cheese. Byblos Café | Byblos Dry Rub Lamb Burger Byblos Café off of South MacDill in Tampa is a fantastic spot to try a Lebanese spin on a burger. The Byblos Dry Rub Lamb Burger, as the title implies, has a patty made of Lamb instead of beef or pork, then layered with feta cheese, fresh heirloom tomato and arugula, all in between two slices of grilled sourdough bread. Oyster Bar | OB Burger The Oyster Bar features an OB Burger, an all-natural beef patty with pecan smoked bacon, fried onions, charred scallion cream cheese and a guava barbeque sauce. It is a favorite among those looking to be a little TOP ROW: Melt Shoppe, Hyatt Regency Clearwater/SHOR. MIDDLE ROW: Bodega, Rumfish Grill.
