Monmouth Arts
To find out about all the exciting art happenings in the area, get
to know Monmouth Arts. Founded in 1971 as a nonprofit and
serving as the county’s official arts agency, Monmouth Arts is
made up of artists, arts organizations, creative businesses and
supporters nurturing a vibrant arts community that enhances
the quality of life in Monmouth County through over 3,000 arts
programs and events that benefit residents, members and
visitors of all ages.
Monmouth Arts supports artists and arts groups through
networking events, workshops and other resources. The
ArtHelps Local Arts Program Grants, offered in partnership with
the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, strengthens small and
emerging nonprofit arts organizations and community groups
that provide high-quality, low-cost exhibitions, workshops,
concerts, performances and arts festivals. Every March,
Monmouth Arts produces the county’s Teen Arts Festival in
partnership with Brookdale Community College, where young
and developing artists can exhibit their skills and hear valuable
critiques from professional artists. Each summer, Monmouth
Arts, in collaboration with the Monmouth County Board of
Chosen Freeholders and the Monmouth County Office on Aging,
showcases the talents of the county’s senior community through
the Monmouth County Senior Art Show and Exhibition at the
Monmouth County Library.
Film Sneak Peek screenings are held throughout the year at
the Bow Tie Cinema, Red Bank’s only independent theater, in
partnership with Monmouth Arts and Sony Pictures Classics,
which distributes, produces and acquires independent films from
the United States and around the world. Prior to screenings,
special themed cocktail receptions are held for attendees at area
restaurants.
Monmouth Arts’ e-blasts, social media, X.it Artzine and website
publicize the wide range of arts performances and exhibitions
that can be found throughout this culturally rich county. Art is
on display for residents, other artists and passers-by to stop
in and enjoy year-round at Monmouth ArtSpace in Monmouth
Arts’ headquarters next to the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank.
Monmouth Art Salons are dynamic social evenings for arts
enthusiasts and creatives to gather and enjoy good company
and conversation at area restaurants, businesses, hotels and
galleries throughout Monmouth County. For more information on
these or other events, please go to www.monmoutharts.org
