Whether you’re looking for a quick bite with
the family or a romantic waterside dinner
for two, you’ll find so many Zagat®-rated
restaurants to try in Monmouth County that
you’ll never run out of options.
Of course, our region is known for fantastic shore seafood spots and
waterfront establishments offering glorious views and every type of
food. Avenue Restaurant, a blend of the Parisian brasserie and the
luxurious beaches of St. Tropez on the Atlantic beachfront in Long
Branch, Bahrs Landing’s famous seafood in Highlands and Oyster
Point Hotel on the Navesink in Red Bank are just a few that feature
an excellent waterside vantage point and run the gamut in price and
cuisine. Boardwalk eateries offer delicious casual fare, and many will
deliver right to your beach blanket.
Specialties abound at the Jersey Shore. Culinary historians claim that
macaroons can be traced to a 9th-century Italian monastery, but you
don’t have to travel that far. The Macaroon Shop in Avon has been
making delicious baked goodies from scratch since 1930, including
a huge variety of layer cakes, their famous dairy- and gluten-free
coconut and almond macaroons and other gluten free treats.
Already known for its wide, family-friendly beaches, Belmar is rapidly
becoming a culinary destination. Mr. Shrimp is the place to go for
fresh-off-the-boat seafood. Downtown, Belmar Plaza is home to a
number of popular eateries. Start your evening with a visit to Beach
