Choosing the cover photo for the Visit Monmouth guide is a huge challenge every year. We receive hundreds of stunning images from talented photographers throughout the region. Jess Naylor grew up in Sewell, New Jersey, and her family had a shore house in Toms River. She has been taking pictures since she got her first camera when she was 13, and evening beachscapes became her favorite subject. She took this spectacular shot of the annual Long Branch fireworks in 2016 with a Canon 5DMIII with fisheye lens, mounted on a tripod and operated by remote control to allow for the long exposure a detailed night shot requires. She is now a professional photographer, shooting weddings, portraits and, of course, beautiful landscapes. Cover Photo: Fireworks bounce off the Atlantic Ocean at Long Branch’s July 4th Oceanfest.
