Dear Governor Kelly:
I was recently made aware that women
inmates at the Topeka Correctional
Facility have had their permission to
pray together, specifically the Rosary,
rescinded. I am a psychiatrist who works
in several correctional facilities via telemedicine.
I have found that allowing
inmates to pray together decreases
anxiety, improves symptoms of
depression, and improves sleep such
that fewer inmates request medication.
My observation is that facilities that
allow peer-led group prayer and Bible
study have fewer behavior problems
as well.
Please reconsider changing the policy
so inmates are allowed to pray together.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Lauren Lehmann - MD
I am one of your Dedicated Decaders
for many years. Hurricane Ida destroyed
my home and I wanted to give you my
new address. After being evacuated and
moving five times last year, my Good
Lord and Mary found me this rental.
Please keep sending your DD. I love
getting that book! Please pray for us
in LA. < Mary – LA >
I would like to get some cards on how
to pray the Rosary. I give them to our
non-Catholic friends. Please pray for
our family as I lost 9 nieces and nephews
to COVID; some were vaccinated and
some were not. So much for science!
All is in God’s Hands. I am asking for
prayers for Kevin, who is 32 years old,
stationed in Hawaii, and just got his
shots for COVID. He is in the hospital.
Pray for me and my husband. We have
too many medical problems to list.
“God is in charge!” Jesus said, “Do not
be afraid!” He is the Good Shepherd
and He takes care of His own.

Not only do I feel I belong to a Family
of prayer warriors, but also I now no
longer search and wonder if I can make
a difference in this world. As I come
to learn about and trust the endless
blessings of Our Savior, I can overcome
some of the trials I face. This belonging
is a great fulfillment of hope and love,
divine and heavenly. I thank you so
very much! < Deborah - CT >
Thank you for the beautiful religious
items that you sent me. These will be
helpful in our ministry with the sick
and dying. The holy cards and booklets
explain in a simple way the mysteries of
our Faith and how to prepare ourselves
for God’s mercy and conversion. I am
very impressed with your ministry,
generosity and devotion to Our Lady in
spreading God’s Kingdom among us.
Thank you for your witness and fidelity
to the teachings of the Church.

I have received a wonderful box of
St. Philomena’s Sacramentals. I thank
you from the bottom of my heart. I am
grateful to you for doing everything
possible to spread the message of Our
Lady of Fatima and the Gospel of Jesus
Christ to all the corners of the world.
