1971 BUICK GRAN SPORT STAGE 1 CONVERTIBLE
This 1971 Buick GS Stage 1 convertible is one of only 25 cars known as “Zone Demonstrator Cars” that Buick built in August 1970 for all 25 Buick executives at each zone
across the nation to promote the 1971 production year model cars. Like all 1971 Zone Demonstrator Cars, it was built during the 5th week of August, 1970. The car is fully
loaded with all available options including factory air conditioning and features the new for 1971 color of Cortez Gold! The car is Body # 000176 and VIN # 100408. There
are only 13 of the 25 cars known to exist; this is the
only numbers matching car that has been concourse
restored. It has been judged and won Concourse Gold
at the 2013 Buick GS Nationals (scored 397/400 points)
as well as the 2015 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals
(990/1,000 points). The entire car is numbers matching
including the original born with “TS” Stage 1 engine
block, “OW” Stage 1 transmission, “LWB” 3.42 posi-trac
rear end, 7041242 Stage 1 carburetor, 1112016 Stage 1
distributor, “SX/IA” Stage 1 heavy duty radiator and was
meticulously restored to be as correct as possible just
as it was when built in 1970.

Believed to be the only known example of the 232 Buick GS Stage 1 convertibles produced in 1970, the example here is finished in special order Azure Blue with black interior
and a black convertible top. The car has been in the care of the same collector for the past 10 years and is in excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically. It features
air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, tilt steering column, power top and Rally II wheels with brand new tires.
