I am writing to see how you are doing.
I pray the virus has not reared its ugly
head in your organization and I hope
the government is letting you continue
your inspiring work. I am sure many
people owe you a debt of gratitude for
the help you have given them. Now,
more than ever, the world needs the
message and guidance of the Catholic
Faith. Never stop doing what you are
doing, no matter what! If you have any
new material to share, I would love to
be a part of what you are doing. We
are under lockdown and, for many
months, have no access to the chapel,
Mass or the Sacraments. I am the only
Catholic in my unit so, at times, I feel
quite alone. Your materials always
cheer me up. Know that you are in my
prayers. < Joseph - GA > I want to thank you for the Rosary and
literature. It has been tough this last
month. I just found out that my plans
for leaving prison are changed and
now I must go to a Veterans’ program.
Please pray for me. I am so proud to
be a member of the Living Rosary.
Thank you for all the things you do for
people. I am nervous about leaving
prison. It has been 11 years and I
wanted to get this letter out so I could
tell you “Thanks” from the bottom of
my heart. I always feel so happy to get
a letter from you. You are the only
person I have written to in years and
it feels good to let a little stress out. I
do say my daily Decade every day. It is
the best feeling to know I am part of
something great. I pray that you stay
blessed and keep up the good fight.
Love, < Chase - FL >
I was told that I received a beautiful
Rosary from you last month. However,
I was told that I could not have it but I
could send it home. Dr. Jeffy agreed to
pick it for me and keep it until I get
parole. Many unit chaplains would have
let me have it but Chaplain Busby is a
new boot and a stickler for rules. I will
treasure it and the memories of you
all at ULRA. Your correspondence and
prayers have been a continual blessing
for many here through the years. Your
kindness means so much to me and,
of course, to my Catholic brothers in
TDC. I pray that God places a hedge of
protection above you, below you and
all around you and all the volunteers
at the ULRA. May His mighty Angels
keep a vigilant watch over you always!
< James, Hondo - TX >
So many in prison are longing to know God and
learn the Catholic Faith. These are the books that
would be an incredible help to them:
THE IMITATION OF CHRIST,
MY MEDITATION ON THE GOSPEL,
MY DAILY BREAD and
MY SUNDAY MISSAL EXPLAINED BY FR. STEDMAN.
We need your help to provide these excellent books to the
prisoners who will cherish them. The HARVEST is RIPE!
PATTI MELVIN, Director - ULRA
