model for our young women and men.
“Just these few words of thanks for
bestowing this wonderful founder’s recognition
celebrating 26 great years of LATINA Style
magazine,” Beserra says. “Kudos to you and all
your hard work in running this great enterprise
that’s mandatory reading for many Latinx.
Corporate C-suite executives and Latino and
non-Latino professionals wanting insightful
relevant data on the fastest-growing segment in
our society, that many, unfortunately, take for
granted. Without LATINA Style our communities’
voice would go unheard. Gracias for being a great
visionary in today’s turbulent times. You’re doing
God’s work!”

founded in 1990 with her partner Russ Steward.

deeply honored to receive this award. It is an
amazing recognition of my efforts to set an
example for other women of color. When I first
started in this business there were scarcely any
women working in construction. That has changed
and I feel like I was part of bringing women along,”
Cordova states. “It is extremely important to support
programs such as the LATINA Style Business
Series focusing on highlighting Latina
Entrepreneurs so that other women can imagine
success in their own endeavors such as
entrepreneurship. When you see another Latina
start a business from almost nothing and find
success it translates into “I can do that too.”
