My beloved and devoted Friends of
St. Philomena, we are so often battered
by bad news and disasters, yet the
creation of God, our heavenly Father,
shows us what is to come! Let affliction
strengthen our faith, fortify our hope
and purify our love! As we begin this
New Year and, often, see the negative
news that seems to always come our
way, let us then, with hope and faith,
look to and enjoy the marvelous work
of the Creator. We are surrounded by
God’s creation and we cannot help but
notice the fine detail of His handiwork:
the difference between the leaves, the
complimentary colors of trees arching
over a waterfall, the serene, yet simple
babbling brook, the wide range of wildlife
meandering about and, above all,
the stillness and pure silence of the
heavens above. Every element of God’s
creation, from the tall trees to the tiny
creatures on the floor of a forest,
point to and speak of God’s glorious
majesty and infinite magnificence. “Let
the earth praise the Lord and exalt
Him above all forever!” O my dear
friends of the one unto whom nothing
is refused, let us seek St. Philomena’s
intercession; let us ask her to still our
hearts in the contemplation of this
beautiful world that God created, so
that we too may lift up our hearts and
souls in the simple things of life, given
so freely and willingly. Make time to
spend with Jesus by whom all things
were made, so that the quietude of hearts
may lift your souls to dwell on the
celestial bliss that will surely come,
for if our earthly home has been so
wonderfully fashioned for us, imagine
what awaits us in our heavenly Home!
A Novena of Holy Masses will be offered
every month at the Holy Sepulchre in
Jerusalem for our members and apostles,
for the sick and those facing death.
May the Most Precious Blood of Our
Blessed Lord wash away your sins and
strengthen you in the practice of our
precious Catholic Faith and its defense.
Please do keep me in your prayers.

Our St. Philomena group in Kakuma
joins me in thanking you for the box of
Rosaries, Miraculous Medals, Scapulars,
newsletters, holy oil and wrist cords of
St. Philomena, Decade cards, enrollment
forms, pictures and posters, and
devotional items. We are so blessed
and appreciate all that you have sent
us. I am sending you four lists of 60
new members. Only 40 of them have
received their Rosaries and Scapulars.
It is our prayer that you send us more
Sacramentals, wrist cords, a Crucifix,
and statues of St. Philomena and the
Blessed Virgin Mary. St. Philomena,
pray for us! Thank you and be blessed.
