Marco A. Jimenez

is the winner of the
National Federation
of Music Clubs

Award for Piano. As
a two-time winner
of the Edward and
Ida Wilkof Young
Artists Concerto
Competition, Jimenez played Tchaikovsky’s Piano
Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor, Mvmt. 1, and Mozart’s
Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor, Mvmt. 1, with the
Sarasota Orchestra. He has received invitations
to perform for the Florida Federation Music Club,
Steinway Society of Sarasota at Pritchard’s Pianos,
Temple Beth El-Bradenton, Cathedral Church of
Saint Petersburg, Sarasota Orchestra Friends,
Sarasota Music Archive, and Pops Orchestra
of Bradenton and Sarasota. He has attended
Interlochen Center for the Arts, Boston University
Tanglewood Institute, and the Southeastern Piano
Festival. He has had masterclasses with Emanuel
Ax, Frederic Chiu, Raymond Herbert, the Eroica Trio,
and Rebecca Penneys. Jimenez has been studying
piano with Mona MacPhail for the last eleven years.
He has also studied with Gila Goldstein.
In addition to piano, Jimenez also plays the violin
and organ, and composes classical music. He is
currently the concertmaster of the Sarasota Youth
Philharmonic and is a winner of the National Young
Arts Competition in piano, composition, and organ.
His composition, Tapestries, received Honorable
Mention for the ASCAP Foundation Morton Gould
Young Composer Award, and his composition Four
Programmatic Preludes of Minimalism on one Motif
was the winner of the John and Margaret Pierson
Award for the National Federation of Music Clubs
Junior Composers Contest. TrevCo Music Publishing
has published two of his compositions.
