uncannily like a
teddy bear.
At right, and

from the swamp.
The tree at right is
one of the oldest in
that area.
In 1997 Butcher began creating very large images - up to
5’ x 9’ and needed a larger darkroom. He purchased a building
in an industrial park in Venice where he also has a gallery.
The darkroom is 2,000 square feet and is open to the public
twice a year for tours.
Two-hour customized eco-swamp private tours are available,
or you can opt to take a three-hour photo safari swamp walk
where you can photograph some of Clyde’s favorite places.
There are swamp cottages and bungalow rentals for those who
want to stay the night.
Big Cypress Preserve and the cottages are located
just behind Clyde’s gallery.
Clyde Butcher’s photographs have been exhibited
in many museums across the country.
He presently has three studios in Florida
located in Ochopee, Venice and Sarasota.
