I arrived at this institution several
months ago. I attend Catholic services.
We do not always have a volunteer or
priest for Mass. On those days, we do
the best we can. We have some of the
materials you donated and take them
back to our cells to read. I am amazed
at all the peoples you reach. I feel that
I am visiting them all and praying
with them myself. I was told that you
might help me with a Rosary and a
Scapular. It would truly make my year
to have a Rosary to pray and carry
with me everywhere I go. But, if you
cannot, it is OK because Jesus has
found a home in my heart and He
likes it there, especially when I bring
home company like you. Keep up
your great work. Thank you.

Tucson is a “closed yard” prison.
It is a maximum security institution
designed for inmates who could not
live safely in an “open” prison. Sex
offenders, former gang members who
have quit their gangs, transgender and
gays reside here. Most gangs are “blood
in - blood out.” Meaning, you must kill
someone to get in the gang and they
will kill you if you leave. Our Catholic
Chaplain is 82 and a retired priest.
Everyone is thrilled that you are willing
to help us with spiritual books and
prayer leaflets. I continue to pray three
Rosaries daily as well as other prayers,
and live my consecration to Our
Blessed Mother. You have a marvelous
team in Texas. God bless you! I think
the 4 hardest words to say are: “THY
WILL BE DONE!”

I use to think that Christ was only
perfect because He was God’s Son but,
after years of suffering and growing
spiritually, I came to understand that
He was made perfect through His
suffering and obedience. I know, now,
that it is not about me living for me,
but about me living for Him. Thanks
for listening. Hope to hear from you
soon. < Dexter - FL >
Help me in my walk of Faith! Teach
me the ways of the Catholic Church.

I
have just started going to Catholic
Mass. I was raised Baptist but something
in the Mass has touched my soul. Please
could you send me a Rosary?

They use to give out plastic Rosaries
at this institute but, due to cost cuts,
they stopped giving them out. My
friend said that I could write to you for
a Rosary. He showed me his and it is
simply wonderful! < Damean - FL >
If you could send the Study Guide
to Convert to Catholicism, there are
a couple of guys here who would like
to become Catholic. Our friar isn’t
allowed to bring that stuff in the prison.
It must come from a distributer.

I need help praying. I do so daily but
seem to lose my focus. I am not allowed
to have a Rosary or even a Medal, but
I can receive prayer cards and so I
utilize them. Thank you in advance.

We have 8 new men in the RCIA
class. It is really the things you send
that teach the Catholic Faith and they
believe in it. They love our Rosary
class. Your help brings converts daily!
Thank you for it! < Charles – FL >
