Thank you for sending the
Sacramentals and holy oil for
my son who was dying with
cancer. I was able to anoint
him with the oil the day before
he died. Before he passed
away, he had come back to
the Church and received the
Sacraments, which was a
great blessing for me, since
I will see him in Heaven.

I
am sharing a story with
you which has changed my
grandson’s life. He has just
graduated from High School
and had a scholarship to
attend Illinois State College.
He had been troubled with low
back pain and had an MRI. They
found a 2½ cm. cyst on his spine. We
got two medical opinions from Iowa
City Research Hospital and Mayo Clinic.
His mother was familiar with Saint
Philomena and had been praying to
her all year for him. Iowa City painted a
very negative picture: surgery, removal
of the vertebrae - screws put in place
with possible nerve damage to the
bowel and bladder. My grandson was
beside himself. He told me that they
were sending all kinds of prayers to
St. Philomena. He was using her oil
daily and wore her cord. He spent
time to receive Chiropractic treatment
on a Cox machine. After three months,
another MRI was taken and the results
were that NO CYST was visualized.
His Mayo appointment was cancelled.
He is looking forward to a new lease on
life. He is a very humble young man
and a good Catholic kid. Thank you
St. Philomena! God is so Good!

I knew my prayers and those
of others, were going to save
this man’s soul. And they did!
We have a Catholic Nursing
Home and moved our 92-year
old father-in-law near us, nine
months ago. Four weeks ago,
his health had taken a deep
turn. We were hoping he
would see a priest. He was
baptized and raised Catholic,
got married in the Catholic
Church, but lost all interest.
My husband has been praying
for him for 35 years. When
his health took a turn for the
worse, our daughter had a
moment with him and he
agreed to see the priest. The
day Father came, he was able
to receive all the Sacraments.
When we entered the room, a tear
came down his cheek. He looked so
peaceful. Father let us know that he
was ready to meet God. This is a man
who spent his life pushing God out of
it, believing in his own ability to take
control of his life and never giving a
thought to eternity. My husband was
like St. Monica, praying, trusting and
believing. His prayers were answered.
It is all about one soul at a time. I do
believe that the Masses said for him,
w hile he was still alive, helped so much.

I
have added an additional Mass in
thanksgiving for Jenn’s successful
surgery. She was operated on today,
and, when the surgeons opened her
up, they found that the liver and
gallbladder, which originally were
shown to have lesions, appeared
clean. They thought earlier that these
organs might have to be excized.
Miracles do happen! Jenn received
many prayers and Masses. We extend
