Florida residents are invited to discover the wonders
of Mote Aquarium for $7 every Saturday in September.
For every Saturday in the month of September (7,
14, 21, and 28), Florida residents of all ages can receive
admission into the Aquarium for $7. This special offer is
valid for up to four people in a party. Proof of Florida
residency is required for at least one person, but is not
necessary for all party members.
*Please note: This promotion is not available through
online ticketing. Offer must be redeemed at time of
visit.

converge on Dearborn Street for this car show. Music
to cruise by sponsored by Old Englewood Village

William R. Mote Memorial Snook Shindig
Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium

Don't let Mote's snook tournament be "the one that
got away!" The William R. Mote Memorial Snook Shindig
is a catch, sample and release tournament targeting
snook released by scientists from Mote’s Fisheries
Ecology and Enhancement Program and the MyFWC
Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Anglers of all ages can take home prizes (and new fish
stories) in this tournament on Sarasota Bay. Participants
will help Mote scientists find out how snook fare after
being raised and released into the wild by Mote and
FWC staff. Snook Shindig $40 entry fee includes entry
in the tournament, awards dinner, an event T-shirt,
voluntary participation in raffles and lots of fun. For

Annual Venice Triathlon, 7:30 a.m.
Sharky’s on the Pier, 1600 S. Harbor Dr., Venice
The Venice YMCA hosts a triathlon each fall on a closed
course that moves participants from Sharky's on the Beach
through downtown Venice. The first wave of participants
starts at 7:30 a.m. Athletes will swim 400 meters, bike 11.5
miles and run a 5K.
The event is open to individuals or relay teams. Registration

The Rotary Club of Englewood is hosting the 3rd
Annual Wine & Swine Water Safety Awareness Fundraiser.
This event is being held to promote children’s water safety
awareness. The Rotary Club of Englewood has partnered
with The Joshua Collingsworth Memorial Foundation
(JCMF), a foundation established when Joshua drowned at
the age of 2, in 2008. The Foundation and its iconic mascot
‘Josh the Otter’ spread the message of being safe around
water.
Dance to the music of local favorite Jeff Hughes and his
Tropical Ave band. There will be a ‘Barnyard Buffet’ featuring
a ‘Pig Pickin’, beef brisket, ribs, chicken and all the fixin’s.
Silent/chance auction, live auction, and wine toss.
Tickets are $75 per person (table of 8 is $500 or $62.50
each). Adult beverages are available - cash bar. Get your
