The Venice Symphony is planning an exciting
upcoming season, and there is a new leader of
the organization who has been very busy
arranging for some dynamic programs.
Troy Quinn, 36, is the new music director and
conductor for the association.
His vision “Season for All” stays true to the
organization’s commitment to present the highest
caliber of music in south Sarasota County.
The conductor search committee received 164
applications from directors all over the world,
vying for a chance to lead The Venice Symphony.
After many meetings and interviews, the
committee narrowed it down to seven finalists,
and Quinn was ultimately chosen.
He is quickly establishing himself as one of his
generation’s most versatile young artists. Lauded
for his energetic and riveting conducting, he
completed two seasons as music director of the
Owensboro Symphony Orchestra in Kentucky.
He has worked with many prestigious orchestras
throughout the United States and Europe,
including the London Soloists Chamber
Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra,
Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, and others.
He is also the former Director of the Juneau
Symphony in Alaska.
“I heard about the Venice Symphony Music
Director opening through an online posting for
conductors and musicians,” Quinn said. “I had no
affiliation with the Sarasota area nor did I know
anyone from the Symphony, but I quickly fell in
love with the community, the orchestra, and the
audience when I came to audition in May of
2018.”
Equally at home in the pops and commercial
world, Quinn has performed and recorded with
the Rolling Stones, Barry Manilow, Josh Groban,
Jennifer Hudson and Jackie Evancho. As an
accomplished vocalist, Quinn has collaborated
