Kids Classic Tarpon Tournament
Saturday, June 1 – 5 to 8 p.m.

The Gaspar illa Island Kids Classic is the biggest
fishing tournament in the wor ld for children ages
15 and under. Registr ation from noon to 2 p.m.,
Camp Mar garitaville from noon to 3 p.m. with a
family interactive ar t show, games, exhibits and
complimentar y food and beverages for the kids.
Tournament competition is from 5 to 8 p.m.
followed by an awards presentation at 8:30 p.m. in
the Boca Grande Community Center with food,
drinks and enter tainment.
Team registration is $1,000 for a teams of four

Full Moon Ghost Tours

Come explore Historic Spanish Point in the moonlight.
Every month on the Friday closest to the full
moon, there is a full moon walking ghost tour. This
unique storytelling tour will take you on a walk among
historic houses, prehistoric mounds, and our pioneer
cemetery while you hear the ghost stories and tales of
mystery about Sarasota and Florida that you will not
hear during our daylight tours.
All tours are $20 per person and will last
approximately 90 minutes In the event that the tour is
canceled due to severe weather conditions, then it will
be rescheduled for the following Friday. For more

Learn Calusa Cast Netting
Saturday, June 15 – 10:30 a.m. to noon

Picnic Pavilion
Cast netting is a skill and some say an inherent talent.
Learn to fish as the Calusa Indians did in the same area
they lived. Step back in time and learn from a Florida
State Park Ranger who will teach you the art of folding,
casting and pulling a cast net. Be sure to wear clothes
you don’t mind getting wet, sunscreen and a hat. Fun
for all ages over 5. Free to Barrier Island Parks Society
members, $5 for non-members and parking is $3 per
