colored and scented, poured into a mold
to sit for 24 hours and then cut into bars to
cure for six weeks. The curing time allows
any leftover moisture to evaporate resulting
in a harder, longer lasting soap bar.
Handmade soaps are better for the
skin because they do not contain detergents.
Additionally, glycerin, a natural
byproduct of handmade soap remains.
Commercial soap making processes brine
the glycerin out of the soap in order to
use in other high-dollar products, resulting
in a product that can leave the skin
dry. Some people are out there spending
lots of money on extra products to correct
their skin issues, when it could be
they simply need to switch to handmade
soaps.
