Natural solutions for better skin care
Rediscover what it means to be full of life.
For nearly 30 years Melaleuca has been on a mission to
improve the health of its customers with innovative,
one-of-a-kind natural solutions backed by science.
Skin, it’s the largest organ of the body. We do our best,
with limited knowledge to take care of it. With moisturizers
for dryness, beautifying products for your face, and silky
soaps for your showers you are literally coating yourself in
products every day. What we have learned over the years is
that we can most certainly absorb products through our skin
and into our bloodstream.
What’s in the products that you are using?
Does anyone make sure that what you are
buying is safe? All valid questions
that most consumers don’t think
to ask. It’s almost impossible to
know that a product is safe before
it is sold, unless you are using
products that are tested by the
manufacturer themselves.
The FDA does very
little when it comes
to monitoring your
skin care and beauty
products.
These are just SOME of the toxic ingredients that you are
putting on and in your body:
Parabens: These are preservatives found in almost every
commercial skin care product. If it has water in it, it probably
has a paraben to keep it from growing bacteria. Parabens are
known endocrine disruptors, causing hormonal imbalances,
and possibly even breast cancer.
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate:
These are foaming agents used in many personal care
products, even toothpaste! These are often contaminated with
carcinogens and cause eye and skin irritation.
Phthalates: used in plastic, which is in most of the
items that are sold. Like parabens, phthalates are endocrine
disruptors and can cause hormonal and reproductive
problems and birth defects.
Formaldehyde: is used as a preservative in almost all types
of skin care products. It’s a known carcinogen and exposure is
linked to asthma, neurotoxicity, and developmental toxicity.
Insomnia, headaches, memory issues, and even A.D.D. are
linked to formaldehyde exposure.
Triclosan: is an antibacterial agent which contributes
to antibiotic resistant bacteria. This one is also an endocrine
disruptor and was shown to contribute to tumor growth when
tested on mice.
Now, what are we to do with all of this information?
Make the next right choice when it comes to your personal
