Greetings of Peace! I received your
e-mail. Here are the lists of 90 new
members enrolled in the ULRA. Our
place, Jolo, is a very difficult region.
It is 98% Muslims. It is the sanctuary of
kidnappers. Foreigners are not allowed
to come here. ISIS has threatened to
bomb our Cathedral. Pray for us and
please send again the Sacramentals.
Your printed materials are very
enriching. We opted to stay here as the
need for evangelization is very great.
The Vicariate needs a powerhouse of
prayer. Our Lady’s Rosary and other
Sacramentals are our weapons in
times of danger and war.

(update: January 28, 2019 )
A deadly bombing of the Cathedral
of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel took place
on the Island of Jolo, a region where
for decades Muslim insurgents have
battled the Catholic-majority State. 20
people were confirmed dead in the
assault which took place just as the
faithful gathered for Sunday Mass.

I would like to thank you for the
Rosaries, Miraculous Medals and reading
materials that you sent to me. I have
been giving them to the soldiers and
the youth. After the bombing, we have
many more soldiers here to secure the
place. They are asking for the knotted
cord Rosary which they can carry in
their pockets. Please thank all the
members who are making them. Pray
for us that peace will reign in our place.

Dear Madam, a happy New Year to
you! Two months ago, I received a box
of Sacramentals for which I am so
grateful. I was able to visit two villages
up in the interior of Fiji. During the
history of Fiji in this area, there was
cannibalism. The Chief of Bau had
wanted religion to end this atrocity,
He set out to conquer all the provinces.
Thousands died. The undefeated chief
then slept and had a dream that a
person wearing a black coat would
bring the religion that he would accept.
After decades of war, his younger
brother met a French priest in a black
robe, bringing the religion that his
descendants practice to this very day.
90% of the Naitasiri Province is Catholic.
On January 10, I received another box
of Sacramentals. Within the span of two
weeks, I was able to visit three other
villages, among them is Komave along
the Coral Coast, which is 100% Catholic.
Many new members were enrolled. I
was so happy to receive your magazine
and find our story included. The
priest and bishop want a copy. There
are about 15 villages along the Coast.
All are eager to have a Rosary and
Miraculous Medal. I ask for Calendars
for the parish priests. The problem we
are having in Catholic Schools is that
the government wants to bring a non-
Catholic teacher as Principal of all the
Catholic Schools. The Bishop told the
Ministry of Education that this will bring
only a faithless society! Please continue
to pray for our country and send a bigger
box of Sacramentals to visit the villages
as the people are eagerly awaiting
my visit. God bless you! < Inoke - FIJI >
