Our lives are
made up of little
things and that
is why a little
smile, a little word
of kindness, a
little expression
of affection or
appreciat ion
mean so very
much to others.
Give them!
If we do our part, God will change the
water in our characters to rich, red,
rare wine! Let us not be disturbed by
little misunderstandings, petty prejudices,
mean or unworthy thoughts. Ask God
for the strength to be gentle in our
thoughts, words and actions, and have
great consideration for others!
VI. “Whatsoever He shall say
to you, do ye.”
Mary did not work the miracle; She
merely pointed out the need of the
married couple to her Son. We do not
need to work miracles, but we must
be a mediatrix if we play the part of
the Mother of God and the Mother of
men! Show thyself a mother. We must
love, labor, suffer and die with Christ
and in Christ, for all the immensity of
His Body. We are over 300 million
members. The weak will never grow
strong, the sick well nor the dying come
back to life unless we show ourselves
a mother. Our sin-sodden world needs
us. The world is sex-mad, divorce riddled,
lustful, pleasure bent and promiscuous.
Society presents a hateful sight. The
world is hideous, Communist, Socialist,
Atheist and godless. Mary’s Son is gone
from them, so too is Mary. When a
mother goes, the home collapses.
Show the World its Savior!
Our work is not caring for this or
that orphan, conducting a seminar or
becoming a contemplative. These are
17
only means. Our work is to mother all
men! We must cooperate with Jesus
Christ in the Redeeming of mankind!
There is nothing little about our lives.
The world of today is not God-oblivious.
It is God-defying and God-denying.
The one spectacle that will strike the
world and compel it to admit that
Christ still lives and He is God, is the
spectacle of selfless souls who double
for Mary Immaculate. The world does
not know what abnegation means. By
self-effacement emblazoned on our lives,
service of the Church and humanity,
and our Total Consecration, the world
will fall down and say, “My Lord and
My God!” Show Christ to the world!
Make it our one goal, receive it
jealously, carry it out perfectly: or else
we betray the human race and God’s
Son, Who loves it so! Pray and work for
all those in need. Impossible? We are
small, yet small things can do great
harm or great good. The world is like
a lost child. It is weeping, wandering
and bewildered. From all lands, we
hear but one cry, a cry that rises and
rises; it is the cry of a weeping child.
Here in America, the same voice wails.
If we love Christ, we must hear it. The
whole world is crying, “Mother!
Mother! I want my Mother! It is the
cry of the child of God, lost in the
maze of the mad material world. We
m ust save that child!
Our God is weeping too! He looks
on a sorry, sorry race of men and says,
“If thou hadst known; if thou hadst
known!” The world will never know
unless we show ourselves to be mothers
of men and double ever more perfectly
for the Mother of God. There are not
six lines to live. There is only one!
The world will be lost unless we learn
to live and love, the life-giving love of
a Mother:
The Love of the Mother of
Christ poured out upon the
Whole Mystical Body of Christ!
