Above, Calusa Man. Below, Emil at work.
While Emil’s mother, aunt, brother and cousins now reside and continue to create their art in the
mountains of Majorca, he currently lives and works in Beacon, New York. While most of his solo exhibits
have taken place in New York City, his
list also includes shows in Georgia and
the United Kingdom. He has
participated in group exhibitions in
California, Chicago, Hong King, Miami,
Philadelphia, Paris, Boston, Colorado
and New York. His works both large
and small can be found in museums in
Michigan, Tennessee, South Korea,
Connecticut, New Mexico and New
York. Emil currently has six galleries and
an opening scheduled for May in
London. He just returned from the
Miami Art Fairs where he showed at
Art Miami with Pontone Gallery, PULSE
with K Imperial Gallery and had a
partnership with UBER.
Early in his career Emil felt the love
from a huge support network on the
island. The late Paul Kruder, former
owner of PJ’s Seagrille, commissioned
the first life-size bronze from Emil titled
“Abrazo,” or “Boca Grande Embrace.”

Jean opened a ceramic studio on
Park Avenue in 1979. His mother
and aunt played big parts in island
art shows for many years, and their
goddess and mermaid paintings,,
ceramic works etchings and retables
(a frame or shelf with decorated
panels or revered objects above and
behind an alter) and sculptures are
commonly found in Boca Grande to
this day.
Emil graduated from Florida State
University at Tallahassee in 1998 with
a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. He
chose a less traditional path after
college and decided his graduate
school would be working at Polich
Tallix, one of the leading art foundries in the world.
