Florida laws regarding the possession
and harvesting of live seashells
recreationally are very convoluted.
You can go to myfwc.com and
search “recreational seashell
harvesting” to find out more.
Here are a few tips on how to
properly clean your seashells
and to prevent the unpleasant
smells that shells can carry if not
properly cleaned.
1. Soak seashells in a
50/50 solution of
bleach and water.
2. Use a dental pick
to scrape off any
leftover barnacles and
other matter.
3. Wipe your seashell with mineral or baby
oil for a nice shine and glow.
