Paper Napkin
Interviews
BY ANN OWENS
It’s part of the rhythm of local life in Toombs County. Each night of the week, regulars can be found at their
favorite local restaurant from country cooking to Italian and Mexican cuisines. There’s plenty of room for a
variety of styles and flavors in Vidalia and Lyons. Instead of competition, the diversity brings business to us all.
And each one has its own authentic taste of place that together creates an experience of which we can all be
proud.
Our own Ann Owens set out to find out what makes some of these local places so special, and how they got
started. With a pen and a paper napkin, she sat down with the owners of five restaurants and got the dish (and a
favorite comfort food recipe) from the people who understand how to bring a little food happiness to our day. TCM
