and the income from that allowed Courtney to remain at home.
school.”
stay home and care for the kids and the household, Courtney is
unapologetic. She believes a lot of women would like to do it but
valued by Danny to be able to stay home.”
Again she laughs. “We
have that conversation
regularly. We always
wanted at least three.”
Since number three is
about to make her grand
entrance, they’ll wait and
see what the future brings.
Talking with Courtney

of their lives, which

than average, she will

sigh and break out with
a very normal comment.
Asked about people’s observation that they seem to live a fairy
tale life she said, “Oh... It’s not. My house is a wreck. I have no
dinner right now.” Pausing she said “To say it’s fairy tale ... nothing
is perfect and we have our own struggles but we have just
been immensely blessed and I’m thankful.”
“Every day … but Danny is awesome. “I get angry with him on
a daily basis. I’m a pain-in-the-butt. If it weren’t for him and his
demeanor, she pauses thoughtfully, when I come to him with a
problem, he sits down and he listens to me. He is the reason we
have no marital problems.”
Courtney’s admiration for her husband shines through
clearly. “He make sure that we are taken care of before everything
else. He puts us above everything. If I have to go to the
doctor unexpectedly he drops what he’s doing and he’s there.
He has his priorities so straight that I can’t get too mad at him.”
She know it sounds too good to be true but she says that
the nice guy people see in public is the same guy who comes
home at night. “People think, even in Tallahassee I hear it all the
time - he’s too nice, he’s way too nice. He really is that nice. He
sometimes comes off as fake or whatever, but he really is that
nice. He’s really easy to be married to so I have no complaints. I
remember when I started dating him I said to his mom ‘What is
Danny.” and she said ‘No, he really is that great.’ I feel like if
everyone was like Danny that is in politics, we would not have
the problems were having. He’s the real deal, he’s a genuine person.”
So Courtney has learned even to embrace perhaps the one
with the territory, she said, it’s practically a holiday week at their
house.
As Election Day approaches November 6 and Danny awaits
word on whether his constituents will keep him on the job for
two more years, we are reminded of the expression: “Behind
except for one thing. Courtney is not behind Danny, she is beside
him every step of the way.
