Tampa International Airport, just 30
minutes from St. Petersburg, is an
international hub that handles more
than 19 million visitors from around
the world. The airport is served by
over twenty major air carrier airlines,
four regional airlines, and three air
cargo carriers.
St. Pete-Clearwater International
Airport, located nine miles north of
downtown St. Petersburg, is a major
destination for low-cost airlines with
non-stop service to 57 destinations in
the U.S. and Canada.
Albert Whitted Airport is a regional,
city owned airport on the downtown
waterfront for private planes,
corporate jets and helicopters. The
Hangar Restaurant and Flight Lounge
overlooks the airstrip and offers live
music Wednesday through Saturday.

BY CAR
St. Petersburg is located at the southern
tip of the Pinellas County peninsula
and connected to sister cities
via bridges. The Howard Frankland
Bridge and the Gandy Bridge connect
St. Petersburg with Tampa, while
the iconic Sunshine Skyway Bridge
connects the city with Bradenton and
Sarasota. Bridges also link St. Petersburg
with the barrier island beach
communities on the Gulf of Mexico,
as well as parts of Clearwater.
Interstate 275 is the city’s major highway
and U.S. 19 is a primary northside
roadway. St. Petersburg streets
follow a grid pattern with avenues
running east-west and streets running
north-south.
