GRAND CENTRAL DISTRICT
Grand Central begins at Central
Avenue and 16th Street North, and
continues the action with dozens
of unique shops lled with vintage,
antique, hand-made and one-ofa
kind gifts. The district’s locally
owned cafes add to St. Pete’s
growing reputation as a foodie haven
with every type of cuisine you can
imagine. This is denitely not a place
where you’ll nd chain restaurants
or stores. The district is home to the
Craftsman House art gallery, the
Imagine Museum showcasing glass
art, and Haslam’s Book Store, Florida’s
largest new and used privately owned
bookstore. The nearby neighborhood
of Kenwood is an artist enclave and
home to one of the largest collections
of Craftsman Bungalow homes in the
country.
THE WAREHOUSE ARTS DISTRICT
The Warehouse Arts District is
located south of Central Avenue,
between 16th Street and 31st Street
and extends to 10th Avenue South.
Once an industrial part of town, the
district has been transformed into a
haven for working artists and other
creative entrepreneurs. Must-see
venues include From Mayan Hands
art gallery, Duncan McClellan’s glass
art studio and gallery, The Morean
Center for Clay at the Historic Train
Station and the new Arts Xchange,
an event space and small studios
for emerging artists. Don’t miss St.
Pete’s newest creative craft distillers:
3 Daughters Brewing, American
Freedom, Cage Brewing, Kozuba
& Sons, Pinellas Ale Works and St.
Petersburg Distillery.
