15th Annual Venice Triathlon
Sharky’s on the Pier, 1600 S. Harbor Dr., Venice
The Venice YMCA hosts a triathlon each fall on a closed
course that moves participants from Sharky's on the Beach
through downtown Venice. The first wave of participants
starts at 7:30 a.m. Athletes will swim 400 meters, bike 12
miles and run a 5K.
The event is open to individuals or relay teams. Registration

62nd Annual Englewood Pioneer Days
Parade & Festival, Dearborn St., Englewood
The parade starts at 9 a.m. - rain or shine. The “All
Corvette Show” takes place after the parade. Don't forget
to visit Pioneer Park for day two of the festival.
The Rockin’ Kidz Zone is a free fun-filled area designed
especially for children 12 and under. Visit the art tent where
children can get creative and make a special craft to take

Youth Fishing Tournament
Boca Grande Fishing Pier North.
Grab your fishing pole and tackle box and join in the family
fun at the youth fishing tournament sponsored by the Boca
Beacon, Boca Grande Marina and Lee County Parks &
Recreation. The tournament is for boys and girls ages 15 and
under. Bait will be provided (no lures allowed). Children must
be supervised by a parent or guardian. This is a catch &
release tournament. Registration is not necessary – just be
at the pier ready to fish by 9 a.m. Refreshments are not
provided, please bring what you need to drink and eat. For

5th Annual Island Hopper Songwriter Fest
All are invited to festival featuring nationally
acclaimed singer-songwriters brought to the beaches
of Fort Myers & Sanibel. This award-winning festival
includes more than100 live performances, more than
60 songwriters, and 20 unique venues. Past performers
include Parmalee,Thompson Square, and Grammy
Award winner Maren Morris.

William R. Mote Memorial Snook Shindig

Don't let Mote's snook tournament be "the one that
got away!" The William R. Mote Memorial Snook Shindig
is a catch, sample and release tournament targeting
snook released by scientists from Mote’s Fisheries
Ecology and Enhancement Program and the MyFWC
Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Conservation
Commission.
Anglers of all ages can take home
prizes (and new fish stories) in this
tournament on Sarasota Bay.
Participants will help Mote scientists
find out how snook fare after being
raised and released into the wild by Mote and FWC
staff. Snook Shindig $40 entry fee includes entry in the
tournament, awards dinner, an event T-shirt, voluntary
participation in raffles and lots of fun. For information
