Tanner coached his son, Alec, in baseball
and daughter Paxton in softball.
While leading WULL, he founded the
Challenger League that gives youngsters
with physical and mental challenges the
chance to play baseball and football.

across the nation and around the world

ago when the decision was made that its
older All-Star teams — the Juniors and
Seniors and now the Intermediates 50/70

Campus facility is now the site of the
Texas East Little League state championship.

Little League representatives were able to
win the bid earlier this year.
The West U Intermediates, Juniors and
Seniors all took advantage of playing in
their own backyard this summer with all
three claiming Texas East state banners.
The tournament will be held back at the
South Campus again next year and quite
possibly in 2019, as well.
And now on top of that, Tanner, after all
his volunteer work with the league and
teams in the league, has been put in a
major decision-making position as Little
League International tries to bring baseball
to even more children around the
globe. Besides every state in this country,
Little League baseball is played in more
than 80 other countries.
“It is an honor to represent such an impactful
organization as its chairman and I
hope to continue to respectfully represent
those who have served in this role before
me,” Tanner said in a statement. “Volunteering
