Meet Safety Harbor
A short drive to the North East and nestled on Old Tampa Bay, will greet you with our, Jewel
of Tampa, village of Safety Harbor. It is “safe” to say that Safety Harbor is one of a kind as this
quaint, charming bayside town is lined with large oaks and natural setting. The past comes to
life in the quaint village atmosphere of Safety Harbor’s Main Street.
The blocks around downtown are a jumbled mixture
of businesses and single-family homes, co-existing
peacefully. A peek at the historic survey of the area
shows everything from a log cabin to tiny turn-ofthe
century cracker houses to bungalows and
Colonial Revivals from the 1920s within blocks
of Main Street. Stroll along the parks, downtown
Safety Harbor and an eclectic area called,
Whimzeyland where you’ll find the Bowling Ball
House. This house, a riot of bright paint, tile and
yard sculptures uses hand-decorated bowling
balls, arranged in piles as a big part of the
landscaping.
Don’t miss visiting the Safety Harbor Fishing
Pier to see wildlife, like aggregations of
Manatees, in their natural habitat. You could
watch for hours as the manatees float along the
edges of the pier and the dolphins jump in the
distance. Safety Harbor is perfect for afternoon
shopping or evening dining and hosts some of
the best special events in the bay area.
