Letters From Our Leadership FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Another wonderful year predicated by supportive patrons and donors, wonderful volunteers, and a fantastic staff. Based on the support of the above groups we generated record ticket revenue which is essential to our continued progress. The year brought many changes with the following individuals joining the team--Bryce Alexander, Artistic Director, October 2016; Patrice Shields, Marketing Director, November 2016; Craig Price, Education Director, December 2016; Esther Snyder, joined us as Executive Assistant and quickly was promoted to Director of Volunteers, November 2016; Paul Polomsky, Executive Assistant, January 2017; and Lucirae Cooley, House Manager, August 2016. We greatly appreciate the retiring and departing staff members who gave so much to The Naples Players and are excited about how the new team is building on the foundation of the past. Beginning with Sister Act this summer, the upcoming year has an incredible lineup and we look forward to sharing it with you. Please participate in our Gala, February 6, 2018 as this is the key to our KidzAct scholarships and our capital projects that maintain the quality of our productions and facility. One thing that, thankfully, has not changed is the loyalty and dedication of our staff, volunteers and of course, our many patrons. Thank you for your contributions. Please feel free to extend a personal word of thanks to an actor, an usher, a sponsor, an advertiser - It takes all of us together. The 2017- 2018 season will be wonderful and I look forward to seeing you at the Sugden Community Theatre. John F. Sorey, III, Executive Director FROM THE BOARD PRESIDENT Welcome to a new theatre season, and a new look forward for The Naples Players! As a board member since 2013, it is my pleasure to now have the privilege to move into the President’s chair. Since before I began engaging with The Naples Players, the theatre has always looked to re-invigorate and re-imagine your theatre experience to help keep The Naples Players rated one of the best of its kind in the country. This is clear by our recognition in The Naples Daily news as “Best Live Theatre” for 15 consecutive years; by our record setting engagement; and by the 60,000+ volunteer hours contributed last year. Approaching next year’s 20th anniversary in the Sugden Community Theatre and our 65th birthday as an organization, we are all very excited to participate in a renewed vision for the theatre’s future. Thank you for continuing to support our community through The Naples Players. Tom Ray, Board President 18 Leers From Our Leadership
