Orli Shaham has an impressive reputation as one of today’s most gifted pianists and will perform Bernstein’s Symphony No. 2 The Age of Anxiety based on a Pulitizer Prize-winiing poem by W. H. Auden. It portrays the spiritual journey of self-discovery of four people in a New York bar. We conclude with one of the most popular of all symphonies, Symphony No. 9, also known as “New World,” because Dvořák wrote it during his experiences in the United States in the 1890’s.
