She is the artistic director for Lumina Youth Choirs, Youth Choir in Residence at the University of South Florida. This diversified program of vocal arts sustains five choirs of boys and girls, grades K-12, which perform locally, nationally and internationally in choral festival, concert and competition settings. She is the conductor of Lumina Stele and Voci de Lumina. Both choirs toured Ireland in March 2014, where they were honored to be guest performers at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin. Stele and Voci just completed a cathedral concert tour in Montreal and Quebec, Canada, in July 2017. McReynolds has extensive experience working with choirs of all ages. In February 2016 she was honored to conduct the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay Ensemble Singers and violinist and composer Ittai Shapira in the Tampa Bay area premiere of his composition, The Ethics. During the 2016/2017 season, as conductor for the Master Chorale Ensemble Singers, she helped create and launch the Outreach and Youth Education Initiative. This program brought in-class workshops and formal concert experiences to over 1000 elementary students in both Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. While attending USF she conducted the USF Chamber Singers, Collegium and Collegiate choirs. She is an active member of The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay and has enjoyed singing as a soloist and with various ensembles throughout the Tampa Bay area for over 25 years. At Lumina Youth Choirs (LYC), our mission is to offer passionate young singers the opportunity to  explore and experience the power of music in their lives. LYC is a not-for-profit, choral arts organization for young people in the Tampa Bay and surrounding metropolitan area. LYC offers students in grades K-12 a fun, interactive, weekly program where practice and participation in choral music helps them develop creativity, confidence, interpersonal communication, problem-solving skills, literacy and more. LYC is a place where children are encouraged to develop their musical talents in a community of friends that share a love of music and singing. This diversified program of vocal arts sustains five  choirs of boys and girls performing locally, nationally and internationally in choral festival, concert and competition settings. Choirs include  Stele  (advanced choir for high school women),  Voci de  Lumina (chamber ensemble for high school singers), Amiaza (intermediate choir for girls and boys grades 6-12), Aurora (children’s choir for students in grades 2-5), and  Prima  (children’s choir for grades K-1). Currently some 140 students, representing five surrounding counties in the Tampa Bay area (Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, and Hernando) are enrolled in the program. Choirs from LYC have performed coast to coast in venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Walt Disney World, the St. Louis Cathedral, The Cathedral of St. John the Divine and the Florida State Capitol. Additionally, choirs from LYC have been featured on international tours of the British Isles, Ireland, China and Canada. DEAH McREYNOLDS Artistic Director 37
